CHIKHALDARA

is the famous hill station located in melghat region of Amravati district in Maharashtra. Melghat means intermingling if many fords which is called in local language (घाटाचा मेल मतलब मेलघाट). The melghat Tiger project is one of the sanctuaries reserved for tiger in India.

Chikhaldara is one of romantic places in India which mostly prefer by familiar people with Chikhaldara for honeymoon.

History
According to Hindu mythology, bhim killed kichak devil here and thrown him in one of the valleys in Chikhaldara, so, it came to know as kichakdara after that it became Chikhaldara.

How to reach Chikhaldara?
Airport – there are no Ariel connection for Chikhaldara so far.

Railway —
Amravati railway station is nearby railway station which 85 km from Chikhaldara.
It takes two hours to reach Chikhaldara by road .

You can take cab or bus for chikhaldara.
Bus stand –
Amravati bus stand -85 km
Paratwada bus stand – 35 km

Bhimkund

An old mythological goes that Bhim killed Kichaka and threw him in this valley, giving it the name Kichakdara. He then took a bath in the nearby lake and it is thus called ‘Bhim Kund’. Bhimkund

THE MELGHAT TIGER PROJECT
The Melghat Tiger Project has 82 tigers and also houses other animals like panthers, sloth bears, sambar, wild bear, and wild dogs.

NARNALA FORT
The Narnala fort is actually a group of three forts, namely Zafrabad , Teliagarh and Narnala itself. Situated on the hills of Satpuda, this fort is of great historical importance, as it has seen many wars.

GWALIGARH FORT
With 3 gates, an inner and an outer fort, the Gwaligarh fort is known for its difference in architecture. It is one of the only three forts in Chikhaldara

BIR LAKE
The Bir lake was built during the time of British colonialism. The lake is built in Basalt and was used by the British soldiers. The water was initially used for Chikhaldara tow. It also has an old garden which is not well maintained

KALAPANI LAKE

Towards the side where you climb to the upper plateau, is a small road that leads to Kalapani Lake. Walking a little more ahead will bring you to Shiv Sagar point. This is the point best known for watching the sunset.

PANCHBOL POINT

This is eco- point where you can hear your sound five times based on eco sound phenomenon. So, this point called PANCHBOL point. In local language five meaning panch.

GUGAMAL NATIONAL PARK

In the serene hilly terrain of Amravati District of Maharashtra, Gugamal National Park, located in the Chikhaldara and Dharni Tehsils, spreads over a whopping 1673.93 square kilometres. As a part of the Melghat Tiger Reserve, Gugamal National Park attracts tourists in large numbers; the place is known to be among the last ones to house the Indian tigers. The bamboo groves provide shelter to the wild animal where they have found a natural habitat and their numbers have increased too over the years because of strict conservation measures
